A walk of 1.9 miles (3km) or four miles (6.4km) along the Royal Military Canal in Hythe. The route mainly follows paths that are flat and have a
hard fine surface.
The 28-mile Royal Military Canal was built between 1805 and 1809 as a defensive structure against the threat of invasion from Napoleon’s French Army. The walk also takes you past the town's station for the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, built in 1927. You can also see a working model of an acoustic mirror dish, with information board.
